Abia State IGR Central System
Abia State Internal Revenue Service being one of the major funding arm of the Government has taken on the challenge of increasing the IGR of the State through the adoption and implementation of various strategies which have impacted positively on revenue generation and collection.
Abia State Board of Internal Revenue came into being after the creation of Abia State from the old Imo State on 27th August, 1991. On 17th July, 2008, the Abia State Board of Internal Revenue Law 2008 came into force, with the establishment of the Abia State Internal Revenue Board and Abia State Internal Revenue Service which is the operational arm of the Board. The Board is charged with the assessment and collection of taxes from individuals and non incorporated bodies as approved by relevant federal and state laws.
